Namibia 2012

It is no coincidence that the poorest region in the world also has the highest amount of correctable blindness from cataracts.   A simple $100 donation will restore the sight of a child and give them a chance at an education,  a chance to see all that is possible in this world.   Become an honorary member of SSI today.   With your help we can make 2012 the year we stopped looking away from world blindness. It's time to do some good.
Namibia is bordered by Angola, South Africa, Zambia and Botswana. Its climate is hot and dry with little rainfall. The total population of Namibia is 2,055,080.  The people of Namibia are mostly tribal,  belonging to various tribes the most significant of which is the Ovambo tribe. Christianity is the major religion and English the official language of Namibia.  There is a constant, overwhelming need for volunteer cataract and eye exam clinics here.
